Esta obra es el resultado de una profunda y rigurosa investigaci\u00f3n, con numeroso material in\u00e9dito (documental, gr\u00e1fico y de testimonios orales), sobre la apasionante historia vital de Mar\u00eda Vinyals y Ferr\u00e9s, nacida en 1875 en el Castillo de Soutomaior (Pontevedra).<\/p>\n

Creci\u00f3 en el seno de una familia acomodada, acumul\u00f3 intensas experiencias y acab\u00f3 convirti\u00e9ndose en una prolija escritora, una pionera del feminismo y una mujer preocupada por la sociedad que la rodeaba.<\/p>\n

En su vida privada se rebelar\u00eda contra los sinsabores de un matrimonio desdichado. Con su segundo marido \u2014el m\u00e9dico cubano Enrique Lluria\u2014, compartir\u00eda ideales pol\u00edticos y sociales, y juntos llegar\u00edan a fundar, en 1910, un gran sanatorio, en el viejo teatro del propio Castillo de Soutomaior. Fijaron aqu\u00ed su residencia junto a sus cinco hijos; cuatro proced\u00edan de matrimonios precedentes.<\/p>\n

En 1917, ahogados por las deudas y marginados por sus ideales pol\u00edticos, Mar\u00eda Vinyals y Enrique Lluria abandonar\u00edan para siempre el Castillo de Soutomaior. Fue entonces cuando sus caminos, y los de sus hijos Antonio, Enrique, Emilia, Mar\u00eda Teresa y Roger, tomar\u00edan diferentes rumbos y nunca volver\u00edan a encontrarse.<\/p>\n

El presente ensayo hist\u00f3rico (publicado en tres idiomas \u2013gallego, castellano e ingl\u00e9s\u2013 en vol\u00fames diferentes) repasa estas siete vidas que crecieron bajo la sombra de un castillo. Desde esta impresionante fortaleza medieval, que hoy es patrimonio p\u00fablico, propiedad de la Diputaci\u00f3n de Pontevedra, Diego Piay viaja m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de sus l\u00edmites y sus almenas, m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de Pontevedra, Galicia\u2026 o Europa.<\/p>\n
